I was kindly invited to join Prudhoe Waterworld Swimming Club after I had completed level 7 swimming lessons. The instructor of the club is called Jane, she also teaches swimming lessons at Waterworld.
The swimming club is completely different to the swimming lessons I had done before, because you don’t learn how to do the strokes you just practice them. We do lots of lengths and are sometimes timed whilst doing them, this is so we can see if we have improved or where we might need to practice more. We also swim wearing flippers more often, I only wore them once when I was doing swimming lessons.
We do a lot of partner work too and water acrobatics, we also continue to build on our water skills such as achieving meter badges and treading water. One of the most fun things about the club is that we still move through the stages even though it isn’t a lesson.
I think swimming club is great and I am happy to be part of it, if I were you I would try to get invited along too!!
