On what I didn’t realize would be my last swimming lesson we were practicing the butterfly stroke. I personally think this stroke is the hardest. We did many lengths and I tried to go super speedy, but think that my friends and I are normally faster and better at the other strokes. After we had swam for what felt like miles and miles, Nicola, my instructor, asked us to swim two lengths front crawl, two lengths back crawl and to finish with two lengths breast stroke! How many lengths!!
Then Nicola asked us to go to the side and do one minute of treading water. Once a minute had past we got out of the pool and lined up, then one by one we were asked to do a feet first surface dive, a head first surface dive, a forward roll and a hand stand in the water.
This was the end of the lesson and we all got out and headed to the shower area where we wait for our parents. Nicola, my instructor, spoke to my mam to tell her that I had completed all the required units of level 7 and was ready to move onto either a club or continue further lessons at Hexham. Once I was changed we headed to reception to collect my certificate and I was lucky enough to get a place in the club.
